An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal PA to join the Disputes team of a leading international law firm in Manchester on a 12-month fixed-term contract.This is a newly created role and there is a strong chance it could go permanent.
This is a varied and highly involved PA position, providing proactive support to a team of fee earners up to Legal Director level. The role goes beyond traditional diary and administrative support, with responsibility across matter management, billing and finance, business development, client relationships and day-to-day practice support.

Duties will include:
- Manage complex diaries, anticipating requirements and resolving potential clashes independently.
- Coordinate meetings, ensuring rooms, hospitality, meeting packs and itineraries are prepared in advance.
- Organise complex domestic and international travel, identifying practical and cost-effective options.
- Provide forward planning and ensure fee earners are fully prepared for upcoming meetings, events and commitments.
- Manage matter opening and ongoing matter administration, ensuring correct rates and specifications are applied.
- Prepare engagement letters promptly and liaise with the relevant onboarding teams.
- Undertake conflict checks and Client Due Diligence, accurately completing the end-to-end Client Matter Inception process.
- Support matter closure, including ensuring bills are paid, client balances and WIP are cleared and completed files are appropriately archived.
- Assist with client billing, financial reporting and management of matter balances.
- Work closely with Business Development to support Partners and fee earners with events, conferences and wider client development activity.
- Assist with CRM administration and maintaining fee earner CVs and credentials.
- Support the preparation of bids, tenders and pitches.
- Help ensure an exceptional level of service is delivered to both internal and external clients.
- Coordinate administrative tasks through the firm's central support resources, taking ownership to ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Delegate appropriate work to Document Production, including pitch and tender documents, legal document amendments, conversions and transcripts.
We are looking for a Legal PA with approximately 1-2 years' + experience ideally gained within a law firm.
Previous experience within a Disputes or Litigation practice would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
